A Natural Nutrition Boost
A Natural Nutrition Boost Picture a coffee plantation in southern Mexico, high in the Sierra Madres:
Lush, green, tropical, mountainous land that stretches as far as the eye can see. Every corner is covered with thriving coffee plants. Although they grow wild here, these plants are painstakingly cared for. Weeded, pruned, and shaded by strategically placed trees, they flourish in a pristine environment with six-foot-deep volcanic topsoil. For more than 100 years, this plantation has employed hundreds, even thousands, of coffee bean harvesters. These workers spend sun-up to sundown picking the fruit and extracting the beans. And they can eat as many sweet, bright-red berries as they want. Many of these pickers are 70, 80, even 90 years old, and the work tirelessly day in and day out. Where do they get their stamina? (Hint: it’s not from a caffeine buzz.)
